FAQ

Questions to Spiritual Training

What are the goals of spiritual training?

Our aim is to teach the entirety of the Western Mysteries at the highest level in order to preserve and pass on the light of the Mysteries. Our work is directed towards the spiritual development of humanity.

For the individual student of the Mysteries, it means to develop their full potential as much as possible and to live a fulfilled life in the service of the Light.

When and where does the training take place?

Most of the time we offer in-person events in the greater area of Frankfurt am Main. Thanks to Frankfurt Airport, this region is very easy to reach for many participants, even those from overseas. All online events are completely location-independent.

We usually schedule face-to-face events so that they start at midday on Saturdays. This means that only participants with a very long commute have to plan a separate day. On the last day of the event, we finish at around 3 – 4 p.m., including the clean-up. This means that many participants can still make their way home on the same day. On the days in between, there is not always the same time schedule, as we respond to the needs of the participants, depending on the topic and the group present. For example, depending on the circumstances, we would decide whether a teaching session should take place the same evening or the next day.

Is there a group nearby where I live?

When will there be a group around the corner from me? We are regularly asked this question. One must be aware that the form of training we offer is, as far as we know, relatively unique in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Magical training at a high level is a rare thing and it is not unusual that one has to travel a certain distance for it. Salomo Baal-Shem travelled to England several times a year for more than 15 years during his own training, because at that time there was no corresponding group in Germany.

With the new possibilities that now exist for online participation, we can teach many areas of our training online. This is really accessible to everyone from anywhere.

However, we don’t want to hide the fact that there is some training content that can only be taught in person. Here it simply depends on the decision of the mystery student how important it is for them.

Some subject areas, such as the Refuah healing series, practical Qabbalah or spiritual self-defence are also offered by various experienced teachers in different places in Germany, so there is bound to be something that is not so far away.

Can I start a group at my place?

This is another question we are often asked. The answer is yes and no.

If a participant has gained a good amount of experience and can implement our training content well, then it is also possible for participants to meet and learn together under his supervision. However, an important prerequisite for this is that he has learned what is important or how exercises are done. And of course that he knows our group rituals and exercises well.

In the past, there have been several such study or ritual groups. However, it has always been the case that the vast majority of participants have also regularly attended the actual events of our Mystery School.

If someone only wants to start a group because they don’t want to travel to other events, then we have to turn them down. Such a group would not be able to work with the principles that are important in our school because they do not know them well enough.

How much does the training cost?

It all depends on what you want to do. When you book an event, you see the price it costs. The same applies to seminar recordings or premium courses for which a fee is charged.

In any case, the free online course and our videos on YouTube are free of charge.

What can I learn at home with an online course?

You can study teachings, do meditations and some exercises. The ritual part is best learned in person, but for some selected rituals it is possible to do them alone.

On the whole, it can be said that the meditative part of the training can be done at home. However, it is highly recommended to additionally participate as often as possible in the common events of the training group and in the intensive workshop series. (Some important techniques can simply only be taught in person. It’s like singing lessons or fitness training, some things can’t be shown well by letter or email either. Personal instruction is much more effective in such cases.

Will I be individually supported and personally supervised during the training?

Yes, each BOEL member is supervised on the one hand by the training director and in addition BOEL members receive an experienced student as a spiritual sponsor brother or sister (comparable to a tutor), who is a bit more experienced and assists him/her with advice and action. This ensures that each student is optimally supported and receives the care, support and feedback they need for their spiritual development.

How long does the training take?

Agrippa von Nettesheim calls the training in the Mysteries the highest and most sacred science. Thus, study in the Mysteries can be compared to the study of any other science, where it takes 2-3 years to get the pre-diploma and about 4-6 years to get the diploma or master’s degree. (Nowadays it would be compared to Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees.) Another 2-5 years for a doctorate and maybe another 5-10 years to become a professor. But not everyone wants to get a doctorate, let alone become a professor. For study in the Mysteries, this means that after about 3-4 years of serious training, one has mastered the basics. Those who then want to go further on the path will reach the first stage of adeptship after another 6-10 years. The aim of the training is to bring the student to a point where he can stand spiritually on his own feet. (But this is, of course, only the beginning of a long and adventurous journey into the spheres of the Mysteries).

Boel’s training is divided into three stages, each of which could theoretically be achieved in a year. In practice, most consistently take longer to master the relevant sections. However, reaching the last stage does not mean that one already knows everything there is to know about the Mysteries. The study of the Mysteries is basically a lifelong study in which one never stops learning.

Can I stop the training at any time?

Of course, you can stop the training at any time. If someone does not find what they are looking for with us, then there is no reason to continue participating in our training. Furthermore, it may be necessary or sensible for personal reasons to interrupt the training temporarily or to let it rest for an indefinite period of time.

From an organisational point of view, we are a normal registered association, from which one can easily resign, just like from any other association, if one wants to end the membership again.

If you simply want to take an indefinite break, you can accept a passive, free form of membership, but remain a member of the association.

I am not yet of age, can I still register for the training?
