FAQ

Questions to Online-Seminars

How do online seminars take place?

We use Zoom for online events. The speaker can show a presentation at the same time and the participants can also ask questions and take part in discussion sessions. There is also a chat area if you prefer to write. Participants can read the chat during the seminar. For bilingual seminars, there is also a translation function where you can set the language you want to hear, the original language of the speaker or the language of the interpreter.

What do I have to do to be part of it?

Once you have booked the seminar, you will receive a link for the seminar. It is necessary to download the Zoom app onto your computer or mobile phone, depending on what you want to use. The easiest way to do this is to click on the link once. It will then suggest that you install Zoom and you can accept it.

Once it is installed, all you have to do is click on the link at the start of the seminar. Of course, your computer needs a microphone so that you can join in the conversation.

How is the recording of an online seminar made?

We record many events to make them available to later students who are currently unable to attend or who may only get to know us in the future.

To do this, we use Zoom’s recording function, which automatically records sound and images. Every participant who enters the meeting room is reminded of the recording with an automatic message and must agree to it.

We want to record the seminar and not our participants or their private data. Spiritual training in a Mystery School is for personal development and to access personal potential. Unfortunately, not all people still see spirituality as something good. Admittedly, we no longer live in the age of the Inquisition, when a student of the Mysteries would have had to fear for life and limb. Nevertheless, many of our participants work in a professional environment where they would have to fear disadvantages. Or they have people with reservations in their private environment. In the Mysteries, therefore, there is a long tradition of being very discreet about one’s studies in the Mysteries. A decision to be quite open about it should not be taken lightly. Perhaps it does not matter in one’s current life situation, but may well change in the future?

To avoid these problems, we encourage our participants to change their displayed name, e.g. to their forum name. At the same time, the camera should not be pointed at the participant, but e.g. at the hands, a candle or switched off completely. Otherwise, when a participant asks to speak, the person being recorded and their displayed name would be visible on the recording.

If a participant speaks, he or she will of course be heard on the recording. Those who do not wish to do so can also communicate via the chat function.

How can I view the recording?

Once the recording has been edited and uploaded, you will be sent a link. This is the link to the relevant course area on our learning platform where the recording is located. You need an account on our learning platform and must log in to view the recording. You need to enrol in the course once per seminar and possibly enter your password.
